Vacancies and opportunities at Slow Ways

We’re working to make it easier for everyone to find and follow the best routes – whether they walk, run, cycle, scoot, skate, ride a horse, or use a pushchair or wheelchair. Want to help us?

Too many of us miss out on active travel and enjoying new places simply because we don’t know which way to go. We’re here to fix that.

We’ve made a great start. So far volunteers have created over 140,000km of routes connecting all of Britain’s towns, cities and national landscapes. Now we’re working to develop the ultimate walking, running, wheeling, cycling and horse riding network for everyone across Britain and Ireland

Want to join us? Great! All of our current vacancies are detailed below and they will always be advertised here first.

Are you a good front-end / full stack developer or Chief Technical Officer?

We’re rebuilding Slow Ways and looking for brilliant developers to help shape the future of our website, apps and routes network. Whether you’re a front-end or full stack developer we’d love to hear from you.

We’re especially keen to hear from people open to novel and collaborative methods, including working with AI and volunteers. Ideally you’ll be based in the South West, but could be anywhere in the UK.

For an informal chat, please complete this short form. This is an exciting opportunity to help build something meaningful, joyful, and impactful.

We look at applications on a rolling basis and plan to bring someone on board as soon as we can. We’d love to hear from you early!
